Apple on one hand was getting popular for revolutionizing the smartphone design by its flagship smartphone the iPhone X, on the other hand the company’s older device users were facing a slowing down because previously the iOS automatically limited performance in the name of longer extended battery life, to avoid unexpected shutdowns that are caused due to the degrading battery life. To check this performance throttling issue Apple has introduced the iOS version 11.3 before the launch of expected iOS 12 which allows the users to disable the performance throttling to restore their iPhone’s peak performance. Below are some of the latest features that come in the new iOS 11.3
Top features of iOS 11.3 update
- Battery Health beta
The iOS 11.3 update comes with Battery Health beta application that helps you monitor and control performance management and gives you a glimpse of the overall battery health and whether the battery needs to be serviced or not. The feature is present on all iPhones, will enable to control performance of older devices such as the iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and the iPhone 7. The users can access this data controller under Settings > Battery > Battery Health (beta).

The most popular feature of iPhone X, the animojis which are used to send customized messages that track ones facial expressions and speech, are getting four new animojis though this iOS 11.3 update: a lion, bear, skull and dragon, which brings the total number of available animojis to 16.
- Business Chat
Apple has introduced a Business Chat (beta) currently in US and Canada, which is a new messaging feature just like iMessage and Facebook messenger that will provide users with a new way to communicate directly with businesses. When searching for a business in Maps, Safari, Search or Siri on iPhone and iPad, users will see the option to contact the business using Messages to reach a live person to ask a question about a product or service, or make a purchase using Apple Pay.
- ARKit – Augmented Reality Kit
With this new update, apps can now deliver AR experiences that can now allow on-screen objects to interact with the vertical surfaces in the real world like walls and doors, instead of only horizontal surfaces like desks and floors, it can also map to irregularly shaped surfaces like circular tables. Apple says that the feed from the camera in AR applications has a 50 percent sharper resolution in the new iOS 11.3, and supports autofocus for the first time.
- Health Records
The new Health Records feature helps the Patients of participating medical clinics of more than 40 health systems including Duke, NYU Langone, Stanford and Yale to see their medical records from multiple institutions right from their iPhone or iPad.
